What about the Theory Test .?

The Theory Test consists of two parts.

1. Multiple Choice

........2. Hazard Perception

The Multiple Choice part has 50 questions of which 43 must be answered correctly to pass. You are alowed 57 minutes for this part. The questions and multiple choice answers appear on a screen and you touch your choice of answer to select it

****

Then a break of up to three minutes is given before the hazard perception part begins.

****

In the Hazard Perception Part you will be shown 14 video clips on a computer screen and as you spot any hazard developing in each one you will click a button on the mouse. The sooner you spot the hazard in each clip the higher will be your score.

There are 15 scoreable hazards in 14 clips, so one of the clips has two hazards you must respond to. You can score up to 5 points on each hazard depending upon your reaction speed. Currently you will need to score 44 out of 75 to pass this part.

MOCK TESTING

You can try your hand at some FREE practice Theory Multiple Choice questions by clicking

here.

When the DSA page loads, read the instructions. You will need to register to access the free mock tests and there is no commitment.

You will be given the opportunity to access the full database of questions for 3 months if you wish for a small fee

Both parts of the test must be passed for a Theory Test Pass Certificate to be issued.

You will need to study for this test however and you will need a manual. The Highway Code by itself is not sufficient to get you through the Test.

There are several books and CDROMs available that contain the whole question bank from which the questions and excercises for each Test are taken. Details of these can be supplied if you send us a Response Form. from the feedback link

You will be given a manual if you need it when you become a DRIVERSWORLD customer and you will be given any help you may need including purchasing a CDROM containing Hazard Perception practice video clips for a very low price.

To take the Theory Test you will need to be at least 17, except in certain special cases of disability, and you will need your Provisional Driving Licence, both parts in the case of the new ones. If you are using the old Green licence then you must have photographic proof of identity, such as a Passport, as well.

It is important to pass the Theory Test as soon as possible so that there is no delay in applying for the Practical Test, and you don't need to be driving before you can take it. If you have any further questions about this topic please use the Response Form and we will reply immediately.
