Driversworld uses three Test Centres. Peterborough, Kettering and Melton Mowbray During your course you will get the chance to drive in each of these places and you will then be given the opportunity to choose where you want to take your Test The Instructor will give you a full brief on what to expect at the Test Centre so that you will know exactly what to do and when. At the end of your course you will be ready to take your Test. You will be picked up one hour before the Test time on the day, and you will drive to the area near the Test Centre. Your Instructor will then take you through a 'warm up' session going through all the manoeuvres, the emergency stop and anything else that you may be worried about. Ten minutes before the Test time you will be parking the car in the Test Centre Car Park by reversing it into one of the parking bays. (More useful practice) He will ask you if you would like your instructor to accompany you during the test. Your instructor will have discussed this with you beforehand. You will then go out to the car, doing an eyesight test on the way. This consists of being able to read a car registration plate from a distance of 21 metres. The actual test will take around 35 to 40 minutes from start to finish and it begins with one of the Safety Check questions combinations. The route you take will consist of things that your Instructor has been showing you during your course. Some of which are listed as follows: Back roads Main roads Dual Carriageways Left and right turns Independent Driving (From 10 October 2010) Pedestrian Crossings One way systems Roundabouts Traffic lights Crossroads Slip roads Reversing Parking Throughout all these the Examiner will be looking at how you use the mirrors, indicators, brakes, gears, accelerator and steering. He will assess how you position your car at all times and how you judge what the appropriate speed should be. He will look at your ability to plan ahead, and anticipate and spot hazards, and deal with them. Does this sound like a tall order ? It is a very tall order !! But our course will prepare you for it thoroughly. You are unlikely to come upon any surprises. DRIVERSWORLD will show you much more than you will be tested on. We teach "SAFE DRIVING FOR LIFE"
